What Is OSRS Victoria Kebbit Monkfish?

OSRS Victoria Kebbit-Monkfish is a Members-only Merfolk NPC with NPC IDs 14945 and 14947, released on 19 November 2025. Riddle 1: Recipe Knowledge – Apple Pie (Sailing Level 38)

Riddle: I’d like to try making some of your land food. Can you tell me the raw ingredients and containers I need to make an apple pie? Don’t worry about water.
Answer: Pie dish, Pot of flour, Cooking apple – South of Mudskipper Point

No wordplay. Straight recipe knowledge. An apple pie requires a pie dish as the container, a pot of flour for the pastry, and a cooking apple as the filling. Water is excluded as always in Victoria’s recipe riddles.

Riddle 2: Homophone – Dwellberries (Sailing Level 38)

Riddle: Produce lives, then get put in the ground.
Answer: Dwellberries – West of the Isle of Souls

Per the OSRS Wiki explanation, to dwell is a synonym of to live, and berry and bury sound alike. Produce lives equals dwell. Gets put in the ground equals bury, which sounds identical to berry when spoken aloud. Dwell plus berry gives Dwellberries.

Riddle 3: Fibonacci Sequence – Sandstone (Sailing Level 38)

Riddle: Tell me the items that complete this sequence: Sandstone (2kg) and sandstone (1kg); sandstone (5kg); sandstone (5kg), sandstone (2kg) and sandstone (1kg)…
Answer: Sandstone (10kg), Sandstone (2kg), Sandstone (1kg) – North of Port Roberts

The totals of each group follow the Fibonacci sequence, where each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers. The sequence runs 3kg, 5kg, 8kg, and the next value must be 13kg. To reach exactly 13kg using available sandstone sizes, you need a 10kg piece, a 2kg piece, and a 1kg piece. Victoria’s only Fibonacci-based puzzle and unique in the entire Kebbit-Monkfish family.

Riddle 4: Deletion Indicator – Common Tench (Sailing Level 38)

Riddle: An odour losing its nose is often seen to be fishy.
Answer: Common tench – East of the Shipyard, Sea of Souls

Substituting odour gives stench. Losing its nose is a deletion indicator for the first letter, giving tench. Remove the S from stench and you get tench, a freshwater fish in OSRS. Often seen to be fishy confirms the answer is a fish.

Riddle 5: First-Letter Indicator – Barley (Sailing Level 38)

Riddle: Primarily, boats and rowers like excluding yachts almost narrowly.
Answer: Barley – Middle of Anglerfish’s Light

Per the OSRS Wiki, it is primarily a first-letter indicator. The first letters of boats, and rowers, like, excluding yachts, spell B-A-R-L-E-Y. Barley is spelled almost identically to barely, which is a synonym of narrowly. Two-layer confirmation: first letters give the spelling, which almost narrowly validates the answer.

Riddle 6: Recipe Knowledge – Fishing Mix (Sailing Level 38)

Riddle: I’d like to try getting into herblore. Can you tell me what ingredients and containers I need to make a fishing mix? Don’t worry about water.
Answer: Vial, Avantoe, Snape grass, Caviar – North of the bank boat, Barracuda Belt

Herblore recipe knowledge test with no wordplay. A fishing mix requires a vial as a container, Avantoe as the primary herb, Snape grass as a secondary ingredient, and caviar as the fish-related component.

Riddle 7: Anagram – Swamp Weed (Sailing Level 38)

Riddle: Plant confusion from ‘Wed me wasp!’
Answer: Swamp weed – South of the Lonely Sea

Confusion is an anagram indicator of Wed me wasp, giving swamp weed. Rearrange all letters in Wed me wasp and they spell swamp weed. Plant at the start is the category confirmation.

Riddle 8: Multi-Layer – Kharyrll Teleport Tablet (Sailing Level 38)

Riddle: You hear a jolly tune that moves you within dried clay.
Answer: Kharyrll teleport (tablet) – South of Waterbirth Isle

A jolly tune can be a carol, which when heard aloud sounds like Kharyrll. Moving you is the action of a teleport. Dried clay points to a tablet since tablets in OSRS are made from soft clay that dries during the enchanting process. Three separate elements all confirmed by one clue.

Riddle 9: Vowel Removal – Two Shirts (Sailing Level 38)

Riddle: BBSB LSH RTNDB BSP RPLSH RT.
Answer: Bob’s blue shirt + Bob’s purple shirt – South West of the Misty Sea

All vowels are stripped from two item names simultaneously. Add vowels back to each cluster: BBSB LSH RT gives Bob’s blue shirt. NDB BSP RPLSH RT gives Bob’s purple shirt. Both are cosmetic clothing pieces associated with the NPC Bob the Cat. This riddle is completely absent from most Victoria Kebbit Monkfish guides online and was only verified via the OSRS Wiki.

Riddle 10: Anagram – Soiled Page (Sailing Level 66)

Riddle: The book’s cooked seal god pie.
Answer: Soiled page – Middle of the Tirannwn Bight

Cooked is an anagram indicator. An anagram of seal god pie gives soiled page, which belongs to the Tome of Earth. The book confirms the category. This riddle is missed by all competitor guides covering Victoria Kebbit Monkfish.

Riddle 11: Last-Letter Indicator – Needle (Sailing Level 78)

Riddle: Run! Escape! Flee! Abscond! Bail! Evade! In the end, there’s a point to it!
Answer: Needle – Middle of Winter’s Edge

In the end is a last-letter indicator. Take the final letter of each exclamation: Run ends in N, Escape ends in E, Flee ends in E, Abscond ends in D, Bail ends in L, Evade ends in E. Combined they spell N-E-E-D-L-E. There’s a point to it, which confirms a needle has a sharp point. Victoria’s most dramatically presented riddle and missed by all competitor guides.

Riddle 12: Word Split – Rain Bow (Sailing Level 78)

Riddle: Split some light twice to make a weapon.
Answer: Rainbow – North of the Island of Stone

Rainbows form when light refracts and disperses inside water droplets, hence splitting some light. Splitting the word rainbow into rain and bow gives rain bow, a cosmetic shortbow which is a weapon. Splitting some light twice means both the physics event and the word split. Missed by all competitor guides covering OSRS Victoria Kebbit Monkfish.

Lore and Name Origin

Per the OSRS Wiki trivia section, her name is likely a reference to Victoria Coren Mitchell, host of Only Connect and professional poker player. The show runs a sequence completion round, a missing vowels round, and a connecting wall, and every core format Victoria uses maps directly to a challenge type on that show.

Her examination text, her knowledge would be best described as very deep, is itself a layered joke: read as wordplay, very deep takes on a second meaning entirely consistent with the puzzle-within-a-puzzle design philosophy throughout this NPC.

Final Thoughts

Victoria Kebbit Monkfish is the natural first mermaid to engage with in the Kebbit-Monkfish family, but she rewards preparation more than most players expect. Her recipe riddles require Cooking and Herblore knowledge. Her Fibonacci sequence riddle requires mathematical working rather than word recognition. And her four riddles that most guides miss entirely are among her most creative.

Clear Riddles 1 through 9 early when you hit Sailing level 38, bookmark this guide for Riddle 10 at level 66, and prepare for the needle and rainbow riddles at 78, knowing both use formats covered in the quick-reference table above. Victoria’s full 1,500 XP is very achievable. You just need all 12 riddles documented, not the 8 that most other guides stop at.
